Every client, every business and every writing assignment (project) is different, but the same process applies:
- The brief – usually a face-to-face over coffee, or a Skype call. This is the part where you tell me about your business and we discuss the deliverables of the project at hand, including timelines.
- The proposal and quote – yes, the part where most people skip the T’s and C’s and head straight to the rands and cents. The proposal may include a writing demo, if appropriate, which will give you a good feel of what to expect.
- The info exchange – you may be required to do some homework here. Depending on the project, I may need specific information about your business, service or product that is not readily available online.
- The first draft – this is where the magic happens. When my heart beats at 48 words per minute.
- The review process – the fun part, where you get to criticise my work. I accept (some of) your changes and suggestions graciously, making further suggestions and changes of my own. I allow for up to two drafts, which means you get to review and request changes twice, provided they fall within the agreed scope of work.
- The final product – the third and final draft. A fresh success delivered via e-mail. Smiles all round. Deadlines met.
